Open House Plane-side Interviews and Hometown Hero Flight Published April 2, 2014 By 030414 DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The Air Force Thunderbird Team will be landing at D-M and be available for plane-side interviews, Thursday, April 10, followed by Tucson's Hometown Hero flight. The Hometown Hero opportunity was provided by the Thunderbirds to highlight an individual from Tucson who has significantly given of themselves to better the local community. This individual will receive the unique experience of flying in the back seat of one of the Thunderbirds' F-16 Fighting Falcon jets while the pilot demonstrates the handling and speed of the aircraft. Media opportunities will begin at 2 p.m. with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and will be immediately followed by D-M's Hometown Hero Flight at 3 p.m. Media interested in attending should RSVP to the 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs office at 228-3406 or email 355WGPA@us.af.mil no later than 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9.
