Comprehensive Airman Fitness



Comprehensive Airman Fitness is an Air Force-wide initiative based on improving Airman readiness by solidifying the four pillars of CAF: Mental, Physical, Social and Spiritual. Here at D-M, all helping agencies within the community work together to ensure services are available to provide safety, health and well-being, personnel preparedness and family adaptation. We focus on developing a sense of community for the active-duty population, DoD employees and dependents.

CAF Objectives

· To have an information and referral system
· To assess behavioral risk factors for 355th Fighter Wing military members and their families
· To deliver prevention services targeted to a wide range of individuals and groups within Air Force communities including: active duty, guard, and reserve members and their families, civilian employees, DOD employees, retirees and their families
· To promote collaborative marketing of CAF educational and prevention services

Responsibilities

Coordination:
Offer seamless delivery system that provides services and promotes knowledge of available programs to enhance personal and family quality of life.

Education:
Provide information and prevention programs based on expressed community needs.

Assessment:
Assess community needs through surveys and evaluations. Identify unmet needs and use a team approach to find and implement solutions.

Marketing:
Maximize the use of media and technological information systems to promote prevention programs. Implement and maintain a community calendar of events listing workshops offered by member agencies.

Crisis Intervention:
Interface with other local community agencies to provide optimal care for the Davis-Monthan AFB community including counseling, education, and emergency intervention.

Spiritual fitness is about having a sense of purpose and meaning in your life. It's essential to an individual's resiliency as esprit de corps is vital to a unit's mission accomplishment.

It includes but not limited to worldviews, religious faith, sense of purpose, sense of connectedness, values, ethics and morals.
