D-M stands up Military-Community Relations Committee

Release Number: 091807

Davis-Monthan will activate the Military-Community Relations Committee by hosting the first public meeting Sep. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Copper Room of the Randolph Golf Course Complex in Tucson.

The base formed this committee based on a recommendation made by the Military Community Compatibility Committee in September last year to establish a multi-stakeholder forum focusing on military and community related issues.

The MCRC will serve as a neutral forum for the base, the City of Tucson, Pima County, business and neighborhood interests, and other associations within the area to share information, find mutually satisfactory solutions to D-M operations concerns, implement or monitor implementation of the MC3 recommendations, and strive to better the community.

"The relationship between Davis-Monthan and the city and citizens of Tucson is 80 years strong and vital to the defense of America," said Col. Kent Laughbaum, 355th Fighter Wing commander. "I am confident that the formation of this committee will further strengthen our relationship in years to come."
