Over 80 Airmen of the 129th Rescue Wing, California Air National Guard, stationed at Moffett Federal Airfield, Mountain View, Calif., volunteered to assist Tucson Clean and Beautiful and the Midvale Park Neighborhood Association May 30.

The two organizations worked together to clean up a multi-use field within Grijalva Park, which is dedicated to Tucson native, U.S. Army Specialist Christopher Moon. SPC Moon died as a result of wounds sustained from a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in July 2010.

During the volunteer event, Airmen pulled weeds and picked up trash on and around the field.

The 129th Rescue Wing is currently visiting Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in support of Exercise ANGEL THUNDER 2015.  They are grateful for the opportunity to give back to their host city, Tucson, and honor the service and sacrifice of SPC Christopher Moon.

For any questions about Angel Thunder please call the 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs at 520-228-3406 or email 355wgpa@us.af.mil.
