D-M 50 Picnic to offer free food, fun on base March 14 Published March 5, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Jamie L. Coggan 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The annual D-M 50 picnic is scheduled for March 14 at Bama Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The picnic will provide a variety of entertainment, free food and drinks for Airmen and their families. Music, entertainment and dancing festivities include: The Clearwater Band, a disc jockey, car show, explosive ordnance disposal demo, fire truck, canine unit and police car, as well as mechanical bull rides, bouncy castles, face painting, pony rides, and a kids train ride. Also, bus transportation will be available to tour the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group. The 45-minute tours will be at 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., leaving from Bama Park. Free refreshments will include burgers, hot dogs, chips, beverages, cotton candy and snow cones. Parking locations for picnic-goers will be at Heritage Park and both Borman and Smith Elementary Schools. Shuttle service will pick up attendees at the parking locations and transport picnickers to Bama Park beginning at 10:30 a.m. Shuttles are scheduled to run every half hour, with the last shuttle scheduled to run at 4:30 p.m.
