Lieutenant General Norman Seip, 12th Air Force commander, visited the base Oct. 15-16 to spend some of his time focusing on the 355th Fighter Wing.

General Seip wrapped up his visit with an enlisted call for E-6's and below at the base theater. "My time is your time," he said.

During the E-call, his focus was on the four main priorities of the new Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Air Force.

The first priority he brought up was regaining America's trust in nuclear business. Currently, General Seip said, the Air Force plans to buy back a B-52 squadron and have a squadron on constant alert focused on nuclear business. The general added that leadership also plans to follow up on people's letters and inquiries on what the Air Force plans on doing about nuclear issues.

The second priority General Seip mentioned was winning today's fight and doing our part as a joint coalition team.

"Working together side by side, with the strength of other services to forefront, minimizes our weaknesses," he said. "And it strengthens our bond."

The next priority he talked about was taking care of Airmen and their families. "The Air Force thinks about Airmen and their families each and every day," he said. "Despite the 12.5 billion dollars the Air Force spends a month, leadership is focused on the Airmen and getting them the training they need."

Lastly, he spoke about modernization and recapitalization. The Air Force is getting rid of old and buying new. Our leadership is currently working on upgrading A-10s to A-10C's and attaining any new software and equipment needed for command and control.

"We need to be able to operate for the future as well as for today," said General Seip. "Families back home expect the Air Force to win 100 to zero and keep its Airmen away from any unnecessary risks."

General Seip then answered questions from the audience and ended his speech by thanking all of the Airmen for their service.
