Airmen and their friends and families from D-M will compete to make themselves healthier in a 90-day competition hosted by many organizations on base.

The Wellness World Challenge encourages every individual to safely challenge themselves over a 90-day period and at the end of event, prizes will be awarded to those who make the most changes.

To make this event successful, Laurie Krupski, Health and Wellness Center health educator said, many service departments have come together to include: The Airmen and Family Readiness Center, Family Advocacy, the base chapel, the dental clinic, the Fitness Center, Youth Center, and the Health and Wellness Center to name a few.

"Together we are promoting a multitude of programs, workshops, classes, and sessions that are designed to support the ongoing practice of healthy lifestyles," she said.

Some of the examples of the programs offered during the Wellness World Challenge are stress management groups, basic health classes, basketball tournaments, paintball, dance classes, coaching groups, cooking classes, mini-olympics, couples classes, tobacco cessation groups, parenting classes, fitness classes, triathlons, hydro-conditioning classes and many more.

The program, which began in April will run through June.

"Participation in the Wellness World Challenge will allow you to learn more about their individual programs. Remember, wellness is everyone's business as we collectively work toward the genuine health of the whole base community," said Ms. Krupski.

Ms. Krupski said, whether you plan to lose weight or improve your overall well being, it is very important to consult with wellness professionals who can safely guide you along your journey to incorporate healthy habits. You'll see how catchy it can be as you improve the quality of your life as well as those around you.

"Wellness is worth it! Invest in yourself! Invest in others," she said.
