More than 100 Desert Lightning Team members attended a Family Health and Fitness Fair which was held at the Base Exchange July 25.

Vendors from 18 programs on base set up booths and provided information about their organization.

The fair gave retirees, active duty and dependents the opportunity to ask questions and learn about programs offered to them on the base.

"This is a chance for people to ask questions they normally can't and see people face to face," said Lana Fred, 355th Areospace Medical Squadron health promotion coordinator. "Some people aren't aware that there are free classes held at the base."

Along with Fred, who represented the Health and Wellness Center, there was also Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Wounded Warrior Program and TriCare booths set up.

"We might have a youth center booth available next year," Fred said after the suggestion was given to her during the fair. "We would like to have someone from housing to get that information out. We even had some people stop and ask us if they could have a booth next time."

Fred welcomes potential future vendors for next year's fair. Anyone interested can contact her at lana.fred.1@us.af.mil.
