The 355th Medical Group, Patient Education Function here held a Family Health and Fitness Fair July 19 at the base exchange.

The PEF holds the fair every summer to give the 355th MDG and other base agencies a chance to connect with people outside of the work environment. Many base agencies were at the fair to provide information to families and answer questions.

"The medical community becomes more relatable at this event," said Lana Fred, 355th Aerospace Medicine Squadron health educator. "Most patients just go into the clinic for their appointment and then leave. The fair gives people a chance to see what the Med Group has to offer that many people miss."

The fair is held in the summer because more families get a chance to come out. School is out, so kids can come learn about things, such as brushing their teeth, and get free items.

Approximately 50 people visited the fair. Free items were given out to families at each booth to include pens, key chains and even mouth guards.

"If someone has a question, I encourage them to call that organization," Fred said. "If there is an item they need, the organization usually has supplies they can help with. They won't be turned away. We're here to reach out and help the community."
