Angel Thunder 2010 exercise
A Civil Rescue officer from the 106th Rescue Wing New York Air National Guard performs an equipment check prior to taking off for a training scenario during Angel Thunder 2010 exercise on the flight line here April 16. Angel Thunder 2010 is a joint service, multinational, interagency combat search and rescue exercise designed to provide realistic training to U.S. Air Force personnel recovery assets using a variety of scenarios to simulate deployment conditions and contingencies, and scenarios to simulate natural disasters in the United States. Personnel recovery forces will train through the full spectrum of personnel recovery capabilities with approximately 250 ground recovery personnel, comprised of personnel from the Air Force Guardian Angel and Special Tactic teams, Army Special Forces and federal special agents.
