Airmen assigned to the 563d Rescue Group recite the combat search and rescue creed, led by Col. Jose Cabrera, 355th Wing commander, during a Presidential Unit Citation ceremony at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, April 17, 2026. The creed honored the contributions of the 66th and 58th Rescue Squadrons during the final withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, which resulted in the evacuation of thousands of American citizens and Afghan refugees between July 16 and Aug. 31, 2021.
