DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. – Two A-10 Thunderbolt IIs from the 47th Fighter Squadron will conduct a flyover in support of the University of Arizona’s Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony and USS Arizona Mall Memorial Dedication Sunday, Dec. 4 at approximately 3 p.m.

The ceremony marks the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the unveiling of the new memorial designed as a full-scale outline of the famous ship’s deck. It also honors those who lost their lives aboard the USS Arizona during the attack.

The 47th Fighter Squadron was activated on December 1, 1940 as the 47th Pursuit Squadron based at Wheeler Field, Hawaii.
