Draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment evaluates construction of new facility on D-M

DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. – The U.S. Air Force, in conjunction with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the 355th Fighter Wing, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base released an Environmental Assessment for Construction of a General Instruction Building today for public review and comment. A 30-day comment period follows the release of the document. The comment period will end Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

 

The draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) evaluates the potential environmental impacts associated with the building’s construction. The proposed project includes a 56,000-square-foot Military Constructed (MILCON) facility to accommodate students and instructors and associated parking areas. 

 

The Draft EA can be viewed online at http://www.egc-inc.net/ea-for-gib.html  and at http://www.dm.af.mil. It is also available at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library located at 101 North Stone Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85701.
