Published February 20, 2018
The Heritage Flight Training and Certification Course will take place at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Feb. 28 to Mar. 4, with aircraft and personnel scheduled to arrive Feb. 27 and flying operations taking place from Mar. 1-4.
Civilian pilots of historic military aircraft and Air Force pilots of current fighter aircraft will practice flying in formation together during
the HFTCC. Heritage flights raise public awareness of the Air Force mission and commemorate its history.
Air Combat Command aircraft flying in this year's training will include the F-35 Lightning II, the F-22 Raptor, and the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
Davis-Monthan's own A-10 Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team will also be flying in this year's certification course.
The historic aircraft will include the P-51 Mustang, the P-40 Warhawk, the P-38 Lightning and the F-86 Sabre. The number and types of Heritage aircraft are still being finalized.
The HFTCC is not an air show and is not open to the public, but tune into D-M's Facebook, website, and our work on https://www.dvidshub.net/ for photos and video of the event.
Media are invited to cover the event during a media day Mar. 2. If you are interested in covering the event, please RSVP to the 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs office at 228-3407 or firstname.lastname@example.org
