Members of the 1st BCD Return to Davis-Monthan AFB Published Sept. 8, 2010 By 030910 DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz -- Soldiers from the 1st Battlefield Coordination Detachment will return to Davis-Monthan AFB Sept. 11, from a 365-day deployment to Qatar, Afghanistan, and Iraq. They are tentatively scheduled to arrive on base at 11:15 a.m. While deployed, the Soldiers served as the liaison between International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF); U.S. Forces Afghanistan; ISAF Joint Commander; U.S. Forces Iraq; and the CENTCOM Combined Forces Air Component Commander to integrate and synchronize air and ground operations in the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility. The 1st BCD is an Army unit permanently assigned to the 612th Combined Air and Space Operations Center at Davis-Monthan AFB. Media are requested to RSVP by 10 a.m. on Sept. 10, if they are interested in attending a welcome home ceremony for the 1st BCD at D-M AFB. Upon RSVP, media will receive the most up-to-date arrival information, as well as the time to meet public affairs personnel at the Craycroft Gate for escort onto the base.
