D-M air show traffic advisory

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz. --  D-M will host the Aerospace and Arizona Days 2007 air show Saturday and Sunday. The following travel restrictions established by the City of Tucson and enforced by the Tucson Police Department will apply: 

Starting at 6 a.m.

Westbound thru travel on Golf Links Road will be reduced to one lane at Swan Road and at Craycroft Road to facilitate dual turn lanes into the Davis-Monthan Swan Road and Craycroft Road entrances.

Starting at 2 p.m.

Eastbound and westbound travel lanes will be closed on Golf Links Road from Ajo Way/Aviation to Wilmot Road.

Southbound travel lanes will be closed on Swan Road and at Craycroft Road from 29th Street to Golf Links Road.

Left turns will be prohibited from southbound Craycroft and southbound Swan to eastbound 29th Street.

Travel leaving Davis-Monthan -
Eastbound travel lanes on Golf Links and on 29th Street will be closed at Swan Road.

All travel restrictions should be removed no later than 6 p.m.

Sun Tran Shuttles will run continuously to Davis-Monthan from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Passengers may board the shuttles at: 

· Park Place Mall located at 5870 East Broadway, in the southeast quadrant of the mall just south of Park Place Drive.
· Pima Air & Space Museum, 6000 East Valencia Road.
· El Pueblo Neighborhood Center, 101 West Irvington Road.

Round trip tokens are available at boarding locations for $2. Seniors 65 and older, persons with disabilities, and ADA or Medicare card holders pay $1. Children five and under ride free. Please note that only cash is accepted, and exact change is appreciated. All buses are wheelchair-accessible.

Motorists driving in this area can expect delays during the event. The traveling public should use caution while in this area and obey all traffic control signs and watch for event participants.
