D-M runway reopened following hard landing Published Sept. 30, 2014 By 040914 DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The runway at D-M reopened for normal flight operations at 10:50 a.m. this morning following the A-10 hard landing Sept 29. Immediately following the gear-up 'hard landing,' base emergency response agencies arrived on scene. A crane was used to transport the A-10 off the runway and into a hanger for repairs and a full safety investigation into the incident. Once the aircraft and debris were removed, the runway was reopened and normal flight operations resumed. Photos of the A-10's removal from the runway are attached to this release.
