355th Fighter Wing will change command

DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- Colonel Kevin E. Blanchard will relinquish command of the 355th Fighter Wing to Col. James P. Meger during a Change of Command ceremony on base August 1 at 8:30 a.m.

Blanchard has served as the 355th Fighter Wing Commander at Davis-Monthan for the past two years, and will be retiring after more than 23 years of service to the nation.

Meger returns to D-M after a year-long tour in Afghanistan where he was the Vice Commander of the 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force and held leadership positions with NATO, U.S. Forces- Afghanistan; and Joint Command Kabul Afghanistan. Prior to his deployment he served as the Vice Commander of the 355th Fighter Wing.
